Tanjung Datu National Park

Tanjung Datu National Park, located at the western tip of Sarawak near the Indonesian border is the smallest and most secluded of Sarawak’s National Parks and possibly the most beautiful. The residents include several species of hornbills, gibbons, long tail macaques, silver leaf monkeys, bearded pigs, civet cats and green turtles. The beaches are clean and less disturbed. The corals offshore are untouched and protected. The beach is sometimes used by marine turtle as a nesting site. There are 4 jungle trails where you can follow to look for wildlife and bird life. Overnight accommodation is provided in the hostels and campsite.

Day 1: Kuching- Tanjung Datu National Park(L/D)

A scenic drive this morning brings you from Kuching to Sematan coastal town where you continue your journey by speed boat for 1 hour to reach the Park. After registration and lunch, trek along the trail to spot wildlife in its natural surroundings. Return to the Park for dinner and overnight at Park Hostel,

Day 2:  Tanjung Datu National Park(B/L/D)

Opt for early rise to wander around the Park for bird watching. After breakfast, continue your trekking on different jungle trails to spot more wildlife and to admire the beauty of the rainforest. Return to the Park for your return transfer to Kuching or to continue your exploration of the many jungle trails. Return to the Park for dinner and overnight.

Day 3:  Tg Datu National Park - Kuching (B/L)

After breakfast, return transfer by speed boat to Sematan and continue by road to stop at Gunung Gading National Park. Gunung Gading is home to the world’s largest flower, the Rafflesia, which can grow up to one meter in diameter. When in bloom, the flower gives off a nasty smell which attracts flies and other insects. Trek along the some of the jungle trails where Rafflesia flowers are commonly found. Lunch will be provided at Lundu town before returning to Kuching in the late afternoon.
