Danum Valley Nature Reserve

 

Located 70 km from Lahad Datu Airport, this conservation area is one of the world’s most complex ecosystems and natural home for endangered wildlife species such as Sumatran Rhino, Pigmy Elephants, Clouded Leopards, Orangutans and Proboscis Monkeys. Birdwatchers will appreciate the 300 m long and 27 m high canopy walkway which offers abundant bird life in the forest canopy. Accommodation is provided at Borneo Rainforest Lodge

Day 1: Arrive Danum Valley

Meet at Lahad Datu Airport and transfer to check in at Borneo Rainforest Lodge. In the afternoon explore nature trails and the nearby river. In the evening watch video show and night safari to spot nocturnal wildlife. (L/D)

Day 2: Danum Valley (B/L/D)

Early morning bird walk in the forest, visit waterfall, Dusun native burial coffin and canopy walk. Night safari to spot nocturnal wildlife. (B/L/D)

Day 3: Depart Danum Valley (B/L)

Morning, trek in search for more birds and mammals. After lunch transfer to Lahad Datu Airport for departure. (B/L)
