Wonders of Sarawak



Sarawak is the home of the Mythical Headhunters of Borneo and the rare helmeted Hornbills. Kuching, the capital is a blend of Christian, Muslim and Chinese Cultures. Visit Semenggoh Orangutan Wildlife Centre and Bako Natioonal Park with its famous pitcher plants and the long nosed Proboscis Monkey. The Sarawak Museum has one of the best collections of artifacts representing traditional lifestyles in South East Asia. Visit the Iban people at Lemanak River and stay in their traditional Longhouse. One hour by flight from Kuching is Miri, the gateway to the world’s largest cave system.


Day 1:  Kuching - Arrival

Our guide will meet you on arrival at Kuching International Airport and assist you to check in at Abell Hotel located in the city center. Rest of the day is free.


Day 2:   Bako National Park & Wildlife Safari

A scenic drive this morning brings you to Bako Fishing Village where an exciting boat ride take you to marvel at the abundant natural beauty of Sarawak’s and most popular National Park. Trek along the trails to spot wildlife in its natural surrounding including the Proboscis monkeys, monitor lizards, bearded pigs, silver leaf monkeys and several species of birds.  (B/L)


Day 3:  Kuching- Lemanak River

Leave Kuching in the morning for a 5 hours’ drive to Lemanak River, then embark on native longboat for 45 min upriver to arrive at Nanga Ngemah Iban Longhouse. Pay a courtesy visit to the Headman before exploring the surroundings of the Longhouse. In the evening, a native dinner will be served at the Headman’s room followed by a ceremonial native dance and music. (B/L/D)


Day 4:  Lemanak River- Batang Ai Resort

After a jungle breakfast, proceed to a jungle walk where our guide will show you the various useful plants used as vegetables and medicine.  The walk ends at a riverbank where a bamboo picnic lunch will be organized. After lunch, transfer to Hilton Batang Ai Longhouse Resort for overnight. (B/L/D)


Day 5:   Batang Ai Resort- Kuching

In the morning enjoy the resort activities, and in the afternoon leisurely return to Kuching and overnight at Abell Hotel. (B/L)


Day 6:   Kuching – Mulu National Park

Depart Kuching by flight to Mulu National Park to begin your adventure of exploring the world largest cave passage, the Deer Caves and the Lang's Caves. In the late afternoon, you have the opportunity to see the amazing sight of thousands of bats coming out of the caves for their habitual feeding. Return to the Park Headquarter for dinner and overnight at Forest Lodge. (B/L/D)


Day 7:   Mulu National Park

This morning you will be taken for a longboat ride to explore the Wind Caves and the Clearwater Caves, the longest cave passage in South-East Asia. Marvel at the elegant rock corals and the wonderful stalactites and stalagmites. Picnic lunch will be served by the river before returning to the Park Headquarter for dinner and overnight. (B/L/D)


Day 8:   Mulu -Departure

Your Wonders of Sarawak tour concludes today after breakfast with a transfer to Mulu Airport. (B)
